With the help of another PC and applying the process of elimination I tried every combination of hardware and software configurations spoken about in this forum and others. This file, kodak_dc.icm, does NOT exist on CD! I have a question. I did not think that would work, but did (on a non-fatal) unreadable file XP install issue. Or you can have freedom. This same cd worked in the past and has no visible damage; can be used as nlite source which works fine.

The disc is really clean with no signs of damage or scratches. XP did not come with SATA drivers, and there are hoops to jump through before it will install properly. Thats interesting that a bad memory module would fail at the same file each time.

Either try reliable memory, or run a dos memory diag. If not then you can run 32 bit versions of Windows or Linux distros. I've got the same issue with a new, full install from xppro sp2 retail CD. It's easy! Windows XP will run on around 2GB of RAM, I did the same for many years with no trouble. Now waiting for formatting to finish to see how far I can get.
