Can the fix mentioned above be able to correct this? So, first try to force Windows to re-create a new empty SoftwareDistribution folder. Would it have worked if I had just downloaded and run fix_svchost.bat? I knew it was the solution as the services and cpu load were going back and forth between 'trusted installation' and 'network services'.
Look for "KB927891" and uninstall it. I thought i could solve the problem by eliminating hp printer from startup programs with no success. It's the underlying software, service, or even hardware that is causing that instance of SVCHOST to run so much.Do a google search for Process Explorer. I should have waited until Microsoft geniuses would figure out the immediate patches they needed before releasing something. (as usual).
