I would suspect an installation problem - I am not an expert on xsane at all, if it were me, I would try to repeat the exercise, i.e. Install the package gocr. On selecting "save" a message "Failed to execute OCR Command: gocr: No such file or directory" appears. Picturescanning works fine but if I try to OCR a document I get the error"Failed to execute OCR command: gocr: No such file or directory".How do I correct this?Thanks.Ian W.

Have now downloaded and installed gocr but am less than impressed with its performance. A. You may have to register before you can post: click the register link above to proceed. Again three times the same message and after getting a preview the same.
If you don't, then use the Ubuntu package manager to install it.
