I use dedicated local IP addresses for both the Time Capsule Router as well as the Synology NAS and managed to mount the shared folder as described. QNAP has a module called RTRR which is exactly what I am looking for, but I can't get this to work e.g. The attached/embedded jpeg images show the issue and the configuration. The upload limit is set by me, usually some percentage of the total upload amount. I used new & separate folders (with no access restrictions) as it was easy to create IP restriction. You’ll find out, when you will loose the least important data (you thought it’s least important). I use crashplan for business critical data eg: account files, emails, docs etc.

Map your ATC backup shared folder on DS, so DS has direct and permanent access to it (see  cheat solution DS p. 4 above how to do it).
